Semeh Gebelee Roberts is the founder of Children Better Way. He was born in Liberia in 1964 as an only child whose parents were later killed in the war. Semeh received his Bachelor’s of Business Administration from the University of Liberia. As a consequence of the war many children had been abandoned and left alone on the streets. Semeh, motivated by a belief that he could be of help, founded Children Better Way in 1996. In the year 2000 he came to Buduburam Refugee Camp in Ghana having fled the war. Semeh was forced to leave behind 175 children and the original facilitators of CBW but successfully brought 13 children with him. He began Children Better Way at the camp in April 2001, where it has expanded rapidly into a prominent grassroots NGO on camp.
