CBW provides a range of services to child victims of natural and man-made disasters through several programs. Services meet the educational, recreational, and sanitation and housing needs of refugee children and youth.

Poultry
Project overview
The poultry programme was started as an income generating project with a donation from a previous volunteer in 2006. It aims to raise funds (by selling eggs and roosters for meat) for the care and support activities of the HIV/ AIDS team, to allow them to provide material support for as many patients as possible.

Activities
The activities of the poultry team include:
  • 1. Meeting the daily needs of the chickens (feeding, fetching water, administering vaccines, etc).
  • 2. Cleaning chicken rooms.
  • 3. Laying chicken beds and transferring them between rooms.
  • 4. Collecting chicken vaccines from Accra.
Local volunteers involved in programme
Supervisor: Stephen
Team members: Edward, Isaiah

International volunteers in poultry programme
International volunteers assist local volunteers with all of their activities.

There are no specific qualifications required to work with the poultry programme.

It is important to read the handover notes of previous volunteers on the poultry programme to ensure continuity between volunteers.
